Selecting your gymnastics team

When exploring team options it is important to consider major choices, career paths, academic support, and how athletes will be able to explore all of their options during their undergraduate experience. With the dedication and time it takes to be an elite gymnast, ensuring that there are dedicated study hours, access to tutoring supports, and flexible academic schedules during the travel season.

When identifying a course of study, will the classes fit into a schedule that allow for mastery and the time it takes to engage in the sport. Questions to ask when embarking on the recruiting process: Will there be preferred housing? Dedicated tutors who can meet in person or remotely? Extended dining hall hours? Scheduling priority for classes? Ability to take summer session classes to offset heavier semesters? Asynchronous classwork?

With these questions and reflections in mind, take a look at the various schools that are Division 1, 2 and 3 to see what size, location, and academic offerings fit your collegiate needs.
